CENTRAL PLAZA HURSTVILLE

HURSTVILLE, SYDNEY

This masterplan proposal by a+ design group will be the largest public open space in the CBD that will engage across all ages and cultures in the community.

Hurstville Central Plaza is situated in a prominent location linking Hurstville Railway Station and Westfield. The design concept details creating a series of unique zones accommodating varying uses. The zones have been designed to flow into each other, allowing for ease of accessibility, all the while providing a segregation of activities within the space.

An underground arcade of shops with a destination food court was also proposed to promote pedestrian movement and accessibility. The shops will attract small businesses, local service providers, and owner occupants who will benefit from high volumes of pedestrian traffic and expo-sure. Hurstville Central Plaza will set new benchmarks in urban design through its exceptional functionality, aesthetics, and ecological sustainable design. It will become a central hub for meeting, playing, shopping, commuting, and leisure.
