A+ deign group strongly believes that every space that they create is a fruit of their aspiration to build an earthly paradise for people. A new boutique Art Hotel resonates this sentiment in one of the Sydney’s star suburb, Pyrmont. The neighbourhood is hailed as affluent waterfront locale and just steps away from the hotel are some of the city’s best entertainment and dining areas including The Rocks, Darling Harbour. For those seeking a different kind of local culture, Powerhouse Museum and art galleries is also just moments away.
Converting the existing 5 storeys office building on 398 square meter block, the main focus was to design unique experience for the travelers. Because of the particular demands from both a technical and an aesthetic point of view, rebuilding the old building premises was a challenging project. The structural dna of building dictated a discipline through the entire design process of integrating the old and new elements.
The internal layout of rooms was compressed without compromising the sense of luxury but allowing travelers to spend time to experience the city. The building’s external appearance draws references from the industrial heritage of the neighbourhood reflecting the absolute solidity. An elegant design of glass box sits on top of the heavy bulk of the building, when lighted at night marks the rebirth of the building. The delicate design of glass box against the heavy mass of brick masonry signifies a perfect balance where yesterdays character meets todays lifestyle and convenience.
These plans will not only provide an exceptional hotel experience for guests in this vibrant quarter of the city, but an exciting bar and restaurant offer from which visitors can savor the world- renowned sights of the Sydney,s Darling Harbour.
