This project consists of refurbishment to two existing buildings located amongst cafes, restaurants, and bars in the heart of Neutral Bay. The apartments offer both one- and two-bedroom apartments, with a private barbeque area designed with the residents’ comfort and lifestyles in mind.
The design rationalises the existing planning and removes the extraneous elements from site. The design also enhances the layering of the external / internal transition through opening the central courtyard to provide connectivity between the two buildings. Visitors are drawn into a crystalline, uncomplicated experience of entry under a steel awning of harmonious proportions.
a+ design group have crafted the facades to create vibrancy into the streetscape and re-energise the area by delivering a visual package that varies in light and shadow. The internal environment also becomes enriched by the ever-changing filtering light. The screens provide privacy to the first level occupants, as well as adding a resort feel to the development.
