Sofitel Melbourne on Collins re-design honours its Parisian roots



At the Paris end of Collins Street, the Sofitel Melbourne pays homage to I. M. Pei’s iconic triangular geometry, echoing his design of the Louvre Pyramid. Pei, who designed both the Sofitel and the Louvre addition. Led by A+ Design Group founder Tony Leung, the facelift reinforces Pei’s architectural legacy through refined geometric forms across guest rooms, corridors and lobbies.

Sculpted balconies, high ceilings and expansive glazing maximising views across Sydney are among the many qualities of this recent addition to the St Leonard’s skyline.

Woolworths Carpark Crows Nest



After nearly two years of construction, the new 3,800sqm Woolworths at Crows Nest is now complete, featuring a public carpark above the store in partnership with North Sydney Council.



CASTLE HILL



GEMI 168 Proposes $250m Mixed-Use Precinct in Castle Hill



Planning for the site began in 2016 and led to its rezoning in 2020 from residential to B4 Mixed Use. A site-specific DCP was introduced to manage built form transitions and public domain outcomes, supported by a Voluntary Planning Agreement for a new pedestrian link and upgrades. The site is part of the Castle Hill Strategic Centre, earmarked for higher-density, mixed-use development due to its location near key infrastructure.

Hilton Sydney draws curtains on AUD$25m guest room refurb



Hilton Sydney has unveiled a major refurbishment, introducing two new room categories: the spacious Corner Room with extended CBD views, and the flexible Family Room, created from interconnecting rooms. The redesign places a strong focus on art, featuring works by three female artists—Camie Lyons, Angela Hayson, and Bec Tarrant. This refresh cements Hilton Sydney’s position as the brand’s flagship property in Australia.

Sydney’s Norwest to become ‘smart city’ under $3b masterplan



Mulpha’s $3-billion masterplan will transform Norwest Business Park into a next-generation smart city over the next decade, integrating residential, commercial and retail spaces across a 377-hectare site—equivalent in size to Sydney’s CBD.
